In the first seven months of the year, the port handled 5,690,863 TEUs, a 10% increase compared to 2024.
Long Beach – The Port of Long Beach moved 944,232 TEUs in July, marking its best July on record and the third busiest month in its 114-year history. The 7% year-over-year increase was driven by the temporary pause in trade tariffs, which prompted importers to advance their orders.
In detail, imports rose 7.6% to 468,081 TEUs, while exports fell 12.9% to 91,328 TEUs. “We are now receiving goods purchased at lower costs during the early-year tariff pause,” said Mario Cordero, CEO of the port. However, the digital tracking system Supply Chain Information Highway forecasts a 10% drop in traffic in the second half of 2025, leading to a stable annual balance.
