Designed for enhanced safety and easier installation, the system combines LOOKOUT’s AI vision technology with a Coast Guard-certified all-around white navigation light from Lumitec.
This integrated solution reportedly eliminates the common challenge of mounting both devices at a vessel’s highest point.
The LOOKOUT system is an AI-powered, three-camera setup offering infrared night vision, high-resolution daylight zoom, and 360-degree views for docking. It automatically detects and tracks hazards such as buoys, debris, vessels, whales, and more.
As the system’s detection range improves with elevation, it is ideally installed at a vessel’s highest point—also the standard location for navigation lights under U.S. Coast Guard rules.
To avoid blind spots and the added cost of installing separate fixtures, LOOKOUT combines a 360-degree white navigation light with its camera housing.
The built-in light meets regulatory visibility standards of up to two nautical miles and is enclosed in a durable housing suited for tough marine conditions.
David Rose, CEO of LOOKOUT, said: “To reduce installation costs and combine technologies meant for the highest point on a vessel, we have integrated an all-around white light into the LOOKOUT camera.
“This affordable and innovative solution provides safety benefits without installation hassles. We believe our customers will appreciate the look and performance of this new product.”
“The integrated navigation light is a brilliant innovation—it simplifies our installation process while ensuring we remain compliant with Coast Guard regulations. It’s like having an extra crew member whose only job is to watch for dangers.”
