The rig, Maersk Convincer, is presently carrying out a task for Shell offshore of Brunei in southeast Asian waters. The operation is scheduled to conclude in August this year, with the Sept. 15 set as a firm deadline after which the asset will be delivered to the buyer, Egyptian company Ades.
The deal is pending necessary approvals from relevant authorities.
Upon closing the agreement, Maersk Drilling’s fleet will consist of ten jack-up rigs and eight floaters.
