The agreement is related to the development of the new Colombo East Container Terminal
Colombo – Maersk Line has signed a three-year agreement with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (Slpa) to continue using the terminals of the port of Colombo as a regional hub. According to the Slpa, the agreement will strengthen the collaboration with the world’s second-largest container carrier, guaranteeing greater service reliability and long-term growth prospects. In particular, the agreement is related to the development of the new Colombo East Container Terminal (Cect), which is expected to significantly increase the capacity and efficiency of Sri Lanka’s main port.
