Mammoet has facilitated the transport of a new hydrogen-powered furnace from Thailand to Stanlow Refinery, in the United Kingdom, on behalf of Essar Oil (EOUK).
The transportation of the furnace from the manufacturer in Southeast Asia to the installation location at Stanlow required the use of SPMTs and heavy cranes, in addition to travelling by ship and barge, including the Van der Wees barge, Lastdrager 35.
A total of six components are being delivered by Mammoet, who will then assist EOUK with installation of the furnace on site in the months to come. A different hydrogen-powered furnace was also delivered to the Stanlow site for EOUK in June of this year. EUOK is aiming to make Stanlow the UK’s first low-carbon refinery and be a net zero Port operator by 2040.
