Fish carrier Heimdall (IMO 9663673) ran aground and partially sank during the morning of July 6th in southern Chile waters, some 100 nm west of Punta Arenas. The ship, with 180
tons of salmon from a fish farm on board, rested on bottom, capsized on starboard and partially submerged. The 13 crew went into life rafts and were rescued.

2013-built, Chile-flagged, 1,573 gt Heimdall is owned by Detroit Chile SA of Conchali, Chile. It is entered with West of England (Claims Team Americas) on behalf of Detroit SA. Last AIS July 2nd, when it was underway from Punta Arenas, Chile, to the Seno Glacier, off southern Chile.

General cargo ship Atlanticborg (IMO 9466350) was reported to have collided with an unidentified dredger while leaving Kemi Port, Finland, Gulf of Bothnia, late on July 6th local time. The ship had to return to Kemi after the collision

2012-built, Netherlands-flagged, 11,885 gt Atlanticborg is owned by Atlanticborg BV BV care of manager Wagenborg Shipping of Delfzjil, Netherlands. It is entered with North of England on behalf of Scheepvaartonderneming Atlanticborg BV. As of July 9th the vessel was moored at Ajos, Finland.

Oil products spilled overboard from cargo ship Sormovskiy 71 (IMO 8033912) at the port
of Astrakhan, Russia, on July 1st. After receiving a signal from the captain of the seaport of Astrakhan, the oil response team monitored the port waters around one of the berths and found a significant pollution of the water surface from the spilled oil products. An oil boom was deployed, after which the oil response team removed the pollution in the area of the berth. About 600 kgs of oil products and oil-soaked sorbent were collected from the water surface.

1982-built, Russia-flagged, 2,466 gt Sormovskiy 71 is owned by Afina LLC care of Albros-Petersburg Shipping Co Ltd (OOO ‘Albros-Peterburg’ Sudokhodnaya Kompaniya) of St Petersburg, Russia. It is managed by Salmi Shipmanagement LLC of Astrakhan, Russia. As of July 9th the vessel was listed as entered with West of England (Eastern Claims Team) on
behalf of LLC Afina. As of July 8th the vessel was underway in the Caspian Sea, awaiting orders.

/vehicle RoRo Alfred (IMO 9823467) remained at Saint Margaret’s Hope, Orkney, on July 5th. Subsequent to its accident the hull survey was completed, and a dry docking was required for repairs. The bow of the vessel was reported to have buckled and sustained some damage. After the grounding, 45 passengers out of 84 were disembarked by the Longhope lifeboat Helen Comrie, and the vessel was escorted to Saint Margaret’s Hope by the Thurso lifeboat The Taylors.

2019-built, UK-flagged 2,991 gt Alfred is owned and managed by Pentland Ferries of Orkney, UK. It is entered with Shipowners’ Club on behalf of Pentland Ferries.

As of July 9th the vessel was moored at St Margaret’s Hope,Orkney.
