Box ship MSC Kymea (IMO 9334844) was disabled and adrift in the Andaman Sea, north-east Indian Ocean on September 8th, about 270nm north-northwest of Phuket, Thailand, after it was in collision with a 30-metre long barge, in which it was reported to have suffered serious damage. The ship was en route from Chittagong to Singapore. As of September 6th the vessel was in Bengal Bay underway from Chittagong to Singapore, ETA September 12th.

Bulk carrier Tomahawk (IMO 9737591) suffered an engine breakdown while transiting the Bosphorus during the evening of September 8th, off Haydarpasa, Istanbul, Marmara Seaen route from Dahej, in ballast. The ship was towed back to Ahirkapi anchorage and moored. The vessel was identified by Turkish Maritime Authorities as a grain ship and was northbound, probably heading for Ukraine. As of September 9th the vessel was at anchor at Istanbul, southern entrance.

General cargo ship Helge (IMO 9677404) collided with refrigerated cargo ship Wild Cosmos (IMO 9181132) before dawn on September 9th in the North Sea 32nm northwest of Ringkobing, Denmark, while both ships were sailing in the same direction. The Helge was breached and started taking on water. Later updates said the ship sank and that seven crew were rescued. According to tracking the ship was still afloat and adrift. The Helge is en route from Antwerp to Heroya, Norway, while the Wild Cosmos is en route from Durban ZA to Tallinn Estonia.

It is entered with Gard AS on behalf of Rederij Helge. As of September 9th the vessel was stopped in the North Sea en route from Antwerp, Belgium. to Porsgrunn, Norway.

As of September 9th the vessel was stopped in the North Sea en route from Durban, South Africa, to Tallinn, Estonia, ETA September 11th.
Tanker Ha An 01 sank at anchorage off Diem Dien port channel, Thai Binh province, during the night of September 8th after being caught in adverse weather. It had some 1,000 tons of fuel on board. Seven crew were rescued. No reports of any oil but authorities have deployed the Oil Response Agency to deal with any possible leak of the oil onboard. The Vietnam-flagged 1,232 gt tanker was understood to be resting on the bottom, with the superstructure remaining partially above waterline.
Cargo ship Ant (IMO 9412311), allided with the berthed cargo ship Gerda S (IMO 8402656) in the port of Amfilochia, Greece, during a mooring manoeuvre. Its bow caused damage to the bow of the Gerda S and also its starboard side . No injuries or leaks were reported. The Amfilochia Port Authority banned both ships from sailing until the presentation of a class
certificate of the monitoring classifications society. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Port Authority of Amfilochia.
