Bulk carrier Matros Koshka (IMO 9550137) reappeared on AIS on June 9th after a nine-day hiatus.The ship’s AIS track and records seemed to support Ukrainian claims that the vessel was transporting grain stolen from Ukraine. One allegation was that during the nine-day “dark” period the grain had been unloaded at a Syrian port.
The Matros Koshka and other bulk carriers, including the Matros Pozynich, were accused by Ukraine of covertly loading grain in Sevastopol, Crimea.
As of June 11th the vessel was underway in the Aegean Sea, off Canakkale, Turkey.

Star (IMO 9202833), which serves the Korean Busan to Jeju service, struck a pier at Busan port, causing the Ship Boarding Bridge (SBB) to collapse early in the morning of Jun 10th on arrival from Jeju. There were 180 passengers on board. The operator of the SBB suffered injuries. The ship sustained damages to its bow and fore starboard area, including dents and hull breaches. The ferry will have to undergo repairs before returning to service.

Sailing yacht Eleonora E (IMO 8732984) was hit by offshore /supply ship Punta Mayor (IMO 8305066) at Tarragona Port, Spain, on June 10th. The yacht’s starboard side was crushed after being struck at an angle of 90 degrees. The yacht sank alongside the pier. The Punta Mayor was reported to have been manoeuvring to exit the port when its engine controls suddenly became stuck in reverse mode. The ship could not stop or slow down and it struck the yacht at some speed. Nobody was injured.
UK-flagged luxury sailing yacht Eleonora E is a replica of 1910 schooner, The 49-metre 148 gt vessel was built in 2002, and can carry eight passengers supported by seven crew. The yacht was available in the Mediterranean for charter at rates starting at €70,000 a week.

General cargo Ship Cedric K (IMO 9280718) suffered a fire in its engine room during the afternoon of June 5th while en route from Fort-de-France, Martinique to Roseau, Dominica.
The vessel was disabled due to an electrical issue with the alternators and switchboards. Tugs towed it back to Fort-de-France, where technicians attended the vessel on June 8th.
As of June 11th the vessel was moored at Fort De France,Martinique.

Container ship Belitaki (IMO 9152923) was alleged to have supplied wrong arrival figures of fuel and cigarettes onboard while staying at Ambarli anchorage on June 6th. The custom
officers compared a bunker quantity measurement inspection with the custom declaration provided on arrival. The officers said that wrong bunker figures had been declared and that cigarettes were found onboard that had not been declared. A fine was imposed and legal crew statements were collected by the customs officers. Upon completion of the legal process, departure permission was granted and the ship sailed from Ambarli anchorage on June 8th headed to Novorossiysk, where it arrived on June 10th. As of June 11th the vessel was at Novorossiysk Anchorage.

Norwegian Cruise Line has cancelled four cruises of the Norwegian Escape (IMO 9677076) while the
vessel undergoes a drydock in September. The vessel will be out of service for more than a month. Therefore the voyages scheduled to sail from September 8th up to and including a departure date of October 2nd have been cancelled. The Norwegian Escape was set to offer 10- and 11-night cruises to the Mediterranean, sailing from Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy, to various destinations in Greece, Malta and Italy. As of June 11th the vessel was en route from Civitavecchia, Italy, to Santorini, Greece, ETA June 12th.
