Bulk carrier Omicron Nikos (IMO 9268980) struck a pier at Santos Port, Brazil, at around noon on June 13th, apparently when shifting berths. The ship was said to be loaded with 71,000 tons of sugar. Although it was not damaged seriously, video footage indicated damage to the hull above the water line. Assessment was still under way to assess the ship’s seaworthiness. The bulk carrier remained berthed in Santos as of the morning of June 14th. It docked at Santos on June 10th, arriving from Vietnam via Singapore.

A helicopter crashed on the deck of bulk carrier YM Opus (IMO 9518206) during the early
evening of June 9th while on a flight over the anchorage area of Sao LuÃs Bay,Brazil. It was attempting an emergency landing on the deck at the time. The helicopter was reportedly a total loss, but no casualties were reported. As of June 14th the vessel was still at San Luis anchorage, having arrived from Brunsbüttel, Germany on June 1st.

One crew member of cargo ship Dumai Line 5 (IMO 9785213) remained missing after the vessel was destroyed in a fire that started on June 9th off Batam Port, Riau islands, Indonesia. Local authorities have salvaged the vessel, using a crane barge, and have towed it to a safer area nearby. The captain initially stated that the fire had started in the cargo hold and spread throughout the vessel. The vessel at the time was anchored and refuelling before an explosion was heard. An investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. One crew member died in an explosion

Greek ferry Alexander (IMO 8514899) allided with moored luxury yacht Bliss (IMO 9463425) at midday on June 10th in Mykonos Port, Greece.Both vessels suffered minor damage. The Mykonos Port Authority prohibited the departure of both vessels until class seaworthiness certificates were issued by the monitoring classification societies. As of June 15th the Alexander was underway from Santorini, Greece, to Naroussa, Greece, ETA not specified.

Tankship Alfa Baltica (IMO 9696773) requested a medical evacuation of its master by MRCC
Holyhead Coastguard late on June 12th while the vessel was about 10nm west of the Isle of Man. A telemedical assistance service from Aberdeen royal infirmary was utilized. The doctor recommended a medevac via helicopter to hospital. The Irish Coast Guard tasked an SAR helicopter for the medevac. The vessel proceeded to the anchorage at Point Lynas to embark a new master. The sick master was hoisted and transferred to the Dublin hospital. The chief officer on board assumed his role until the arrival of the new master. As of June 14th the vessel was at anchor in the Irish Sea. north of Conwy Bay, North Wales.
