A sick oil worker was medevaced from an oil platform 80 miles southeast of Galveston, Texas, on Tuesday June 21st. US Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a medevac request stating a 36-year-old crew member aboard the High Island 442 was experiencing coughing, shortness of breath and tightness in his chest. watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon,who recommended a medevac. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Houston was launched to conduct the medevac. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, landed on the rig, onloaded the ailing man and transferred him to the University of Texas Medical Branch Health John Sealy Hospital in Galveston in stable condition.
Passenger ro-ro ship Andros Queen (IMO 9166223) suffered a fire in the aft during the morning of June 21st while it was at Perama Ship Repair Yard, Piraeus The fire was extinguished by the crew, two SAR ships, and the crews of five fire engines. No injuries were reported. The ship had been undergoing repairs since April to be refitted for
ferry services.

General cargo ship Princess Miral (IMO 9016727) had to interrupt its voyage on June 18th and anchor north of New Mangalore, Western India, for unspecified reasons. On June 19th
the ship heaved anchor and sailed south, anchoring in front of Mangalore late on June 19th. On June 21st the ship issued a distress signal, reporting water ingress, and reportedly, intentionally ran aground to avoid sinking. The 15 crew, all Syrians, were rescued. Princess Miral was en route from China to Beirut Lebanon, with some 8,000 tons of steel coils on board.
1990-built, Belize-flagged, 5,552 gt Princess Miral is owned by Five Oceans Administration Inc care of 7 Ocean Shipping Co of Mersin, Turkey. As of June 19th the vessel was off the west coast of India, heading for the Suez Canal with an ETA of July 3rd.

June 25th, and has been termed by industry expert Michelle Wiese Brockman as “another
example of elderly tankers shifting to Russian trade from Venezuela and Iran business”.
2000-built, Tanzania-flagged, 39,283 gt Angel is listed as owned and managed by Marshall Islands-based Departier Shiptrade Co.
