Shipowners Club has noted that 15% of vessels surveyed during 2021 were found to have save-alls (drip trays) that were not in a good condition. The Club has produced this bunker checklist template to assist Members and crew with pollution prevention during bunkering.

General cargo ship Quaterdecies (IMO 8504272) reported sinking, 7 crew abandoning ship, at around 0030 UTC Jul 7 in Ionian sea. The vessel was en route from Nemrut, Turkey to Reggio Italy. Container ship Marguerite A (IMO 9305893) was near the site and changed course, moving at slow speed and probably engaged in SAR. As of July 7th the  Quaterdecies was not under command in the Ionian Sea, Eastern Mediterranean.

1985-built, Panama-flagged, 1,957 gt Quaterdecies is owned and managed by Easy Shipping Srl of Pozzallo RG, Italy.

The master of container ship Safmarine Nowazne (IMO 9294381) informed the Piraeus Port Authority on July 4th that, during the process of unmooring from the pier of Iconium in
Piraeus with 25 crew members on board, there was a mechanical failure. The ship sailed to the anchorage of Piraeus with the assistance of the tugs Christos 45 and Karapiperis New Generation. The Port Department of Keratsini of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus prohibited the sailing of the container ship until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate by the classification society which is monitoring it. As of July 7th the vessel was underway near Gebze, Turkey, in the Marmara Sea, near
Istanbul.

It is managed by Safmarine Pty Ltd of Cape Town, South Africa. ISM manager is Maersk AS of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is entered with Standard Club (European Division) on behalf of Maersk Shipping Hong Kong Ltd.
