Kostas Delaportas, President and CEO of DryDel Shipping, stressed that “dry bulk rates skyrocketed after the new US-China port duties,” emphasizing that “a wait-and-see stance is prudent until the market reaction is clear.”
Referring to the shipping transition, he noted that “it is ironic to talk about zero emissions when ships older than 25 years are still operating,” while he characterized the new bulk carrier designs with consumption under 10 mts IFO as “the most ecological ships.” The panel also included Alexandros Hatjipateras (Dorian LPG), Gerasimos Kalogeratos (Capital Clean Energy Carriers) and Giorgos Souravlas (Load Line Marine).
