Must read

The Canadian branch of the Danish trucking company, Martin Bencher Group, transported a 90,6 ton Francis runner hydropower turbine. It was shipped from Port Veracruz, in Mexico, to Goose Bay, in Newfoundland, Canada.

The hydropower turbine will be installed in the Churchill Falls generating station, a 5,428 MW hydroelectric underground power station in Labrador. It is the second largest in Canada, behind the Robert Bourassa generating station in Quebec. Churchill Falls Generating Station is also the 16th largest in the world, providing renewable energy to North American consumers.

Ryan Clancy, Managing Director of Martin Bencher Canada, adds: “We had to take shelter for a hurricane that hit East Coast Canada during our final stage of the voyage, but other than that, the transportation went very well.”
