Wilfried Lemmens, Managing Director of the Royal Belgian Shipowners’ Association (RBSA), gave the closing statement:

“The ultimate aim and goal of the IMO is very clear: zero emissions in 2050. We all have that responsibility towards the next generations. In order to reach this goal, all stakeholders will have to cooperate: shipowners, maritime equipment suppliers, governments and any other party involved. It is equally important that all countries are involved in this energy transition. I am more then ever convinced that we will have to join forces in the fight against climate change. What we have seen this evening is a fine example how this can work for the future. Together we can!”
