Molgas and NorSea Logistics reopen LNG facility in Kristiansund

Must read

Molgas Group and NorSea Logistics have reopened an LNG tank facility at Vestbase AS in Kristiansund, Norway, according to Molgas.

The facility, located at one of NorSea’s supply bases, will provide LNG and bio-LNG to dual-fuel vessels operating in the region.

Under the arrangement, Molgas is responsible for leasing the facility while NorSea Logistics handles daily operations.

“This is more than a local investment — it’s a national step toward sustainable maritime logistics,” Molgas said.

NorSea Logistics operates several supply bases serving the North Sea offshore industry, including NorSea Vestbase.

According to the group’s website, Vestbase stores and handles LNG, methanol and marine gasoil (MGO). Located in the municipality of Kristiansund, its infrastructure covers a total area of 821,000m² and includes 11+2 quays.

Headquarterd in Spain, Molgas provides a range of services across Europe, including ship-to-ship, truck-to-ship and terminal-to-ship operations. In September 2025, the company completed its first LNG bunker delivery at Leixões, Portugal; and earlier this month performed its maiden bio-LNG bunkering operation at Le Havre, France.
