Monjasa secures NATO fuel supply contract across five operational areas

Must read

Marine fuel supplier Monjasa has been awarded a contract to provide fuel services to NATO forces following a tender process launched last year.

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) awarded the contract to Monjasa A/S, the company’s Danish entity, covering fuel deliveries across five Areas of Operations (AOOs). The framework contract is already operational and runs for an initial one-year period with an option for a two-year extension.

The agreement forms part of NATO’s framework for marine fuel supply to ensure military forces have access to necessary fuel resources across designated geographical areas covered by the contract.

Ulrik Østergaard, General Manager Northwest Europe at Monjasa, said: “Meeting the right quality standards is a prerequisite for winning specialised international tenders. This new contract award comes on the back of years of investments in our logistics and in establishing a modus that supports extended documentation requirements and overall transparency. Our aim is to deliver consistent high service levels and maritime operations matching the demand from our global partners.”

Under the contract terms, Monjasa will provide fuel services to NATO both as a reseller and through its own maritime fleet operations.

The company operates from 16 international offices and maintains a fleet of 35 tankers and barges. According to Monjasa, it sold marine fuel products across 784 ports worldwide in 2024.
