The port of Motril is established as an essential enclave for the export of materials from the mining operations in the province of Granada. This, at least, is confirmed by the export data up to last August, with 400,872 tons of the total 539,804 tons of solid bulk that were moved. “Its proximity to the extraction areas provides a differential value compared to other more distant ports, allowing companies to optimize their processes and significantly reduce the costs associated with transport and logistics,” added the president of the Motril Port Authority, José García Fuentes.
“Thanks to its location, operability, and services, the port of Motril reinforces the competitiveness of the Granada mining sector, guaranteeing a more agile, efficient, and sustainable distribution of its resources,” added the president of Motril. The Granada port, with 6.7%, is the fifth with the highest growth in percentage among the 28 in the Spanish system until August and well above the national average.
