MSC Cruises’ new ship, MSC World Europa, is to feature the largest children’s area in the cruise line’s fleet when it comes into service in December 2022.
The area will occupy 766 square metres, with seven distinct spaces dedicated to different ages from babies to 17 years old.
“We have invested heavily in the entertainment offering for our younger guests, and we know they value the latest technology, trends and experiences,” said Matteo Mancini, kids’ entertainment manager at MSC Cruises. “We have worked to introduce real innovations in both the design of the facilities as well as the development of an incredible programme of activities, all carefully planned to ensure that the differing needs of all age groups are met – from our youngest guests through to teenagers.”
Activities at the Kids’ Clubs will be arranged according to age group. The Baby Club accommodates children up to three years old with qualified crew members, while the Mini Club and Juniors Club is available for young children between three and 11. Older children between 12 and 17 years old can visit the Young Club and Teen Club, including a new technology-themed room, Teens Lab.
New activities onboard MSC World Europa will include the Lego Celebration Room, which is designed for children of all ages and continues a partnership between MSC and Lego Group. 3,2,1 Knock is a gameshow designed to be played by families, combining K-Pop, Japanese games and tests for them to complete together. Another new gameshow, Beat the Music, will be available to play through a dedicated app, with parents attempting to identify new music releases while their children try to name classic songs.
A new sports programme for kids and teenagers called Z Active will be launched with the ship, and will include football, basketball, Zorb ball, and for the first time onboard, pickleball and hoverboards. Guests can also compete in a drone relay race at Drone Academy 2.0, which features fluorescent effects and glowing drones. New point of view cameras and virtual reality effects are now included as they attempt to navigate 15 obstacles in the quickest time possible.
