Van der Vlist Transport Group officially inaugurated its new multimodal terminal in the Port of Moerdijk, the Netherlands. In the location where water-related activities had not taken place for a long time, a strategic hub is now coming to life.

The new multimodal terminal strengthens the port with connections by water, road, and rail, and contributes to smart and sustainable logistics chains. “A valuable and significant moment for Van der Vlist, our port, and our environment,” added the Port of Moerdijk.
At the end of 2022, Van der Vlist decided to participate in Rail Cargo Information Netherlands, a time when Martin van Dam and Marcel van der Hoeden were still working on the development of the terminal, and now there is a multimodal breakbulk terminal that supports the ambitions and makes the company’s vision tangible.
The company’s director, Dirk van der Vlist, explained the company’s vision to the more than 400 guests at the inauguration. “We are a modest organization that dares to dream, innovate, and overcome setbacks. Perfection rarely comes without frustration, but with perseverance comes progress. Administration and inventiveness are at the core: to keep believing in a better world, with the ambition to work CO2-emission-free by 2040. The roads are silting up, rail and water offer space. The terminal is a concrete response to these challenges and shows how the vision of transport works in practice.”
