New CFO taking the reins at Prosafe

Must read

After initiating a search for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following the resignation of its current one, Prosafe, an offshore accommodation services provider, has now brought this search to an end and named a new CFO, who will take over the role in a couple of months.

Prosafe revealed the appointment of Reese McNeel as its new CFO on Tuesday. The company confirmed that McNeel will replace its current DCEO&CFO, Stig H. Christiansen, who, as disclosed in late March, has accepted a position with another company.

Christiansen served as both DCEO and CEO of Prosafe since March 2017 and McNeel will take up the CFO position on 1 August 2022.

Prosafe’s new CFO has more than 20 years of experience in management and financial positions, including many years of experience in the offshore industry. According to the company, McNeel most recently served as DCEO & CFO at Atlantica Tender Drilling.

Prior to this, McNeel served as the CEO and CFO of Sevan Marine. McNeel holds a Master of Business Administration from the IESE Business School in Barcelona and a degree in Finance and Economics from Utah State University.

Commenting on the appointment, Jesper K. Andresen, CEO of Prosafe, remarked: “We are very pleased to welcome Reese McNeel to Prosafe. He brings significant experience and competence and will help drive the further development of Prosafe.”

Prosafe has been winning several new deals lately and its most recent one was with Petrobras. Thanks to this deal, the offshore accommodation provider will provide the Safe Eurus semi-submersible vessel for safety and maintenance support offshore Brazil.
