Must read

A new tropical cyclone, named Kalmaegi, is currently advancing towards the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

Between 3 November and 4 November, Vietnamese regions from Ha Tinh to Da Nang and eastern Quang Ngai are anticipated to receive substantial rainfall.

In addition, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) reported that, as of 2 November, Kalmaegi was active over the eastern waters of central Philippines.

For the next 24 to 72 hours, the cyclone will continue on a west-northwest trajectory, and on 4 November, it is expected to remain over the eastern waters of central Philippines.

While Japan is not expected to be impacted, authorities have cautioned that the Philippines, Vietnam, and Laos may experience severe weather and potential damage.

Heavy flooding, strong winds and landslides are expected to interrupt port operations and cargo transport.
