Brussels – The global push for the creation of “green” maritime corridors accelerated in 2025, with the launch of 25 new zero-emission trade routes and a more decisive involvement of major emerging economies. This is revealed by the latest annual progress report on Green Shipping Corridors, published by the Getting to Zero Coalition and the Global Maritime Forum. The fourth edition of the report, titled At a Crossroads, brings the total number of active green corridor initiatives to 84, up from 59 last year, and shows a sharp increase in projects in China (+4), India (+4), Brazil (+2), Chile (+2), Ghana and Kenya.
