Barcelona – The shipping company Baleària expects to exceed the minimum volumes required in its proposal for the new passenger and ro-ro terminal at the Adossat wharf in the port of Barcelona. According to the documentation made public by the Authority, the company estimates reaching 113,092 intermodal transport units (Uti) in the third year of operation, thus exceeding the minimum requirement set at 110,000 Uti. An investment of 12.42 million euros is planned to co-finance the wharf works. The project presented by Baleària includes the construction of a new terminal on an area of 75,249 square meters located at the southern end of the Adossat wharf. The new infrastructure will replace the one currently in use at Drassanes and will allow the company to enhance ro-pax vessel handling operations, with the aim of increasing both freight and passenger traffic over the next 27 years.
