Next Port Nautical Experience will manage the moorings of the Poniente dock in Maó for the next 11 and a half years

The board of directors of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) has agreed to select the proposal from Next Port Nautical Experience as the most advantageous solution for managing the mooring positions located on the Poniente dock of the Port of Maó. The concession will last for 11 years and 6 months and includes the management of a total of 17,500 square meters of water surface and 370 linear meters of docking line. The proposal also includes the installation of aerothermal systems for climate control and domestic hot water, efficient LED lighting and solar beacons, as well as electric charging points for boats, vehicles, and bicycles. In the environmental sphere, most of the existing concrete moorings will be reused, a vacuum-based water collection network connected to the municipal system will be implemented, and innovative projects such as artificial micro-reefs and a pilot module for bioremediation with algae cultivation will be developed.

Med Sea Yatch Services at the Maó shipyard

On the other hand, the company Med Sea Yatch Services will be responsible for managing the shipyard at the Port of Maó. The concession will last for 19 years and includes a planned investment of 9 million euros with the goal of modernizing existing infrastructure, expanding operational capacity, and responding more effectively to the technical needs of the nautical sector. The various actions will allow the shipyard to adapt to current quality and sustainability standards and strengthen the Port of Maó’s role as a benchmark for boat maintenance and repair.
