OCCS AND SCRUBBER COMPANY APPOINTS SOUTH KOREA REPRESESNTATIVE

Must read

The Dutch Value Group has signed a commercial representation agreement with Korean company Union Tech, appointing the company as the technical consultant and agent for Value Maritime’s solutions in South Korea.

As Value Maritime’s representative in South Korea, Union Tech will be responsible for offering the company’s full range of products and services to its local shipbuilding network. This includes the Filtree solution – SOx scrubber and Onboard Carbon Capture System (OCCS) – along with components, engineering, and related services. Union Tech will act as the bridge between Value Maritime, domestic shipyards, and shipowners.

With increasing pressure from IMO GHG reduction strategies and the introduction of carbon pricing mechanisms worldwide, South Korean shipowners and builders are accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly solutions, and a growing demand is seen by the group for cost-effective scrubbers and onboard carbon capture systems (OCCS).

Frédéric Le Moullec, Commercial Manager, Value Maritime, said: “As representatives of Value Maritime in South Korea, Union Tech is playing a critical role not only in direct sales to shipowners, but more importantly, in navigating complex shipyard collaboration processes to successfully integrate these technologies into newbuilds and retrofit projects. Our SOx Scrubber and Carbon Capture solution is ideally suited for medium-sized ships being built in South Korea. Concentrating on shipyards building in these size categories is a key target for our colleagues at Union Tech and we welcome their support.”

Chaesung Lim, Union Tech MD, added: “Union Tech has established a strong network across South Korean shipbuilders and shipyards. We handle both domestic and international orders, including newbuilds and retrofits requested by shipowners. From initial contract to construction and final delivery, we ensure a seamless process with precision and expertise. We look forward to securing more business for Value Maritime in South Korea.”

The Value Group incorporates two innovative sister companies, Value Maritime and Value Carbon, working together to drive decarbonisation across shipping and industry. Value Maritime offers technology for emissions reductions and cost savings for shipowners, while Value Carbon focuses on land-based carbon management. With a strong focus on the marine sector, Union Tech supplies essential ship components and develops high-efficiency, low-emission vessel designs by applying advanced technologies.
