OLP: Readiness exercise for marine and terrestrial pollution

The exercise, implemented with the participation of the Organization’s personnel, port users, and the competent port authority, aimed to enhance operational capability and the immediate activation of the Pollution Response Plan.

During the execution of the exercise, which was carried out in collaboration with the specialized contractor of OLP S.A., responsible for the implementation of the “ANTIPOLLUTION ANE” Plan, and in the presence of the competent port authority, the available and fully operational equipment for responding to pollution incidents was presented.

Environmental protection and the adoption of preventive measures constitute a fundamental pillar of the strategy, based on which the company implements the plan for the further modernization and development of the Port of Piraeus. Within this framework, OLP S.A. implements a multitude of environmental projects and initiatives that contribute to the prevention of environmental incidents and the formation of an overall preventive approach to contemporary environmental challenges.

The CEO of OLP S.A., Su Xudong, expressed his warm thanks to the personnel for the flawless and successful completion of the exercise, emphasizing that continuous and systematic preparation is a fundamental factor for the effective management of potential emergency incidents. As he noted, targeted training and regular testing create the necessary conditions for immediate response and a high level of operational readiness.

Furthermore, Mr. Su Xudong pointed out that the Port of Piraeus is developing with an absolute commitment to the principles of sustainability and environmental protection, steadily shaping the preconditions to be a modern, competitive, and exemplary green port.

Following the conclusion of the exercise, a special evaluation report is compiled, which records the results arising from its execution, as well as any points for improvement to achieve the optimal level of operational readiness.
