One month ahead of schedule! Huangpu Wenchong completes annual delivery task of 27 ships

On November 29, 2025, the No. 2 large aquaculture vessel built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. was officially delivered. This marks the company’s completion of the annual ship and marine product delivery target assessment task assigned by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) one month ahead of schedule. The cumulative number of ships delivered for the year has reached 27, representing a major phased victory in production and operation.

Since the beginning of this year, Huangpu Wenchong has thoroughly implemented the CSSC Group’s “1-1-7-8” overall requirements, closely focusing on the annual production and operation goals, with scientific coordination and precise efforts. Facing challenges such as concurrent construction of multiple product types, tight task schedules, and difficulties in resource coordination, the company has adhered to focusing on its main responsibilities and core businesses. With feeder container ships, heavy-lift vessels, and bulk carriers as the main delivery product lines, the company has achieved a dual leap in construction efficiency and the total output value of ship and marine products through systematic management improvements.

Innovation Leads the Way, Aquaculture Vessel Sets New Industry Benchmark

In the face of a series of challenges in constructing large aquaculture vessels, such as complex structures, precise processes, and numerous irregular cabins, Huangpu Wenchong independently developed an efficient design and construction method for “equivalent structural cabin sections.” This not only increased the primary steel utilization rate to a historical high but also significantly accelerated the overall construction process, accumulating important experience for the efficient construction of similar medium and large-sized vessels. Using this vessel type as a platform, the company has applied for 35 patents, published 6 technical papers, and successfully transformed and applied multiple technological achievements, strongly propelling China’s modern marine fishery equipment towards high-quality and intelligent development.

Green Navigation, Dual-Fuel Vessel Contributes Chinese Solutions

The 1250TEU methanol dual-fuel open-top container ship built for Singapore’s X-Press Feeders is another innovative achievement of Huangpu Wenchong in practicing the concept of green shipbuilding. Methanol fuel reduces carbon emissions by approximately 50% compared to LNG during combustion and offers advantages in liquid storage and transportation at normal temperature and pressure, demonstrating outstanding performance in both environmental protection and economic efficiency. This ship type integrates over 40 new technologies, including methanol fuel tanks, dual-fuel main engines, and intelligent propulsion systems. Key aspects such as methanol medium sealing technology and fuel supply system safety control have achieved independent breakthroughs. The successful delivery of this project not only demonstrates Huangpu Wenchong’s solid capabilities in the field of clean energy vessels but also provides a reliable Chinese technological pathway for the green transformation of the global feeder container fleet.

Lean Construction, Series Vessels Demonstrate Exceptional Efficiency

With the successful delivery of the final ship in the Evergreen Marine 3000TEU container ship series, the project has been successfully concluded. Huangpu Wenchong fully leveraged the advantages of series ship construction, deepened production rhythm control through lean management, and continuously improved the completeness of block assembly, docking, and sea trials. This resulted in a significant reduction in both dock and quayside periods, achieving the construction capability for “7 batches” of rolling production at the company’s Wenchong facility. This series of vessels was delivered an average of 175 days ahead of the contractual delivery schedule, fully demonstrating the company’s high level of project management and construction execution, further consolidating its advantageous position in the global feeder container ship construction sector. Simultaneously, the company’s independently developed Honghu 1900TEU series vessel type has realized a “dock + quayside” dual 60-day construction mode, with key cycle times at the world’s advanced level.

With the delivery performance of 27 vessels, Huangpu Wenchong has not only forged a solid answer sheet for the conclusion of the “14th Five-Year Plan” but has also, with innovation as the helm, green as the sail, and efficiency as the oar, demonstrated the strong resilience and forward-looking vision of China’s shipbuilding industry.
