Must read

On August 20, Zhongshan Chengxi Yangzhou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. held a dual-node ceremony for the two asphalt tanker projects built for KUMIAI—the launching of the No. 2 17,000-ton asphalt tanker and the steel-cutting for the No. 3 17,000-ton asphalt tanker.

At 7:00 a.m., the shipowner and ship inspection representatives gathered at the site to witness the launching ceremony of the No. 2 17,000-ton asphalt tanker (CX5410). The project successfully broke through the technical barrier of super-heavy lifting for large components by innovatively introducing dynamic balancing technology, significantly improving lifting speed. Breakthroughs were also made in launching completeness and construction efficiency, ultimately achieving the completion of the berth assembly and a successful launch within 51 days.

At 7:30 a.m., the steel-cutting for the No. 3 17,000-ton asphalt tanker (CX5411) was successfully commenced. This vessel will be classed by Bureau Veritas and is scheduled for delivery in August 2026.

Additionally, on August 18, the steel-cutting for the No. 55 82,000-ton bulk carrier (CX0853) built by Zhongshan Chengxi for Hong Kong Lianghe Company was successfully commenced at the company’s headquarters. This milestone marks a new level of cooperation between the two parties. This ship type integrates numerous advantages such as environmental friendliness, energy efficiency, and wide cargo adaptability, which will inject new and powerful momentum into the company’s high-quality development!

With the accelerated green development of the international shipping industry, Zhongshan Chengxi is promoting the upgrading of shipbuilding towards high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing through lean management and technological innovation. The efficient connection of the dual nodes for this series of vessels once again demonstrates Zhongshan Chengxi’s core strength and rhythm control capability.
