Solstad Offshore continues to optimise its fleet, reporting the sale of 14-year-old platform supply vessel (PSV) Normand Sira.
Solstad did not disclose the sale price, but reported the new owner took possession of the vessel 9 August.
Based on an MT 6009 design, Normand Sira has an overall length of 80 m, beam of 16 m and clear deck area of 748 m2.
Meanwhile, Norwegian offshore energy company Equinor extended the charter for hybrid-battery platform supply vessel (PSV) Normand Searcher for another year.
The Norway-flagged PSV has been under contract with Equinor since 2017 and will continue to provide support activities on the Norwegian continental shelf. The extension will keep Normand Searcher on charter until September 2023. Equinor holds a further four one-year options.
Built at Aker Yards Brevik in 2008, the UT 751 E design PSV has an overall length of 94 m, beam of 21 m, draught of 7 m and clear deck area of 1,091 m2.
Originally built as diesel-electric-powered, Normand Searcher was retrofitted for hybrid-battery propulsion in 2018. Undertaken at Vard Brattvåg shipyard in Norway, the retrofit included a shore-power connection and Corvus Orca Energy batteries, with a capacity of 497 kWh. Vard Electro was the energy storage system integrator for the project.
Normand Searcher is dynamic positioning class-2 capable, and carries the DNV notations +1A1, SF, E0, DK(+), HL(2,8), SUPPLY VESSELl, LFL*, COMF-V(3), CLEAN, OILREC, DYNPOS-AUTR, NAUT OSV(A), ICE-C, ESV-DP(HIL), Battery (Power).
