General cargo ship ONEGO TRAVELLER sank off Hole in the Wall Lighthouse, Bahamas, reportedly on Dec 29, but probably earlier, after contacting reef or bottom. The ship was either aground or sinking since Dec 25. She was en route from Finland to New Orleans, with cargo of steel. Local sources said she sank because of water ingress, but something should cause it, most likely it was breached hull. 12 crew abandoned the ship, they’re safe. Salvage understood to be under way, with at least 2 tugs near wreck.
