A total of 396 luxury vehicles from automaker BMW were unloaded at the Port of Itajaí, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, on the morning of Saturday, August 16. The shipment, transported by the vessel Adriatic Highway, is considered high-value-added cargo and represents significant economic gains for both the city and the port.
This is the ninth vessel received by the Port of Itajaí in 2025 alone, highlighting the growing importance of this type of operation in the port’s logistics calendar.
Luxury shipments consolidate the port as a key logistics hub
According to João Paulo Tavares Bastos Gama, Superintendent of the Port of Itajaí, all operations carried out this year, involving nine vessels with luxury cargo, reinforce the confidence of shipping lines and international automakers in the port’s infrastructure.
“This movement demonstrates the consolidation of the port as an important logistics hub for high-value-added cargo, generating jobs, revenue, and strengthening the economy of the city and the region,” the superintendent emphasized.
