Turkish LPG carrier specialist PascoGas continues its buying spree in the secondhand market, adding a second vessel within a month to its growing fleet
The company has emerged as the new owner of 2007-built, 35,000-m³ Sylvie, which has already been renamed Pasco Sylvie. The tanker is now listed on PascoGas’ website as part of its fleet.
Shipbrokers reported around a month ago that the South Korean-built vessel had changed hands to undisclosed buyers for a price close to US$24M.
This marks PascoGas’ second recent addition, following its acquisition of 2005-built, 35,223-m³ Antwerpen, now sailing as Pasco Duja. That vessel was reportedly purchased for about US$20M.
The Turkish owner currently oversees a fleet of nine active LPG carriers, with capacities ranging from 34,500 m³ to 59,000 m³.
Alongside its secondhand activity, PascoGas is pursuing an ambitious newbuilding programme comprising five vessels – a mix of medium gas carriers and very large gas /very large ammonia carriers – all under construction at South Korean yards.
The LPG carrier sale and purchase market has experienced moderate activity this year. Harry Vafias-led StealthGashas been active on the selling side, while South Korea’s HMM has quietly re-entered the market through both secondhand and newbuilding acquisitions.
Analysts note that current market conditions are supportive, with charter rates trending upward after a seasonal summer softening, partly as geopolitical volatility eases. According to StealthGas’ latest quarterly presentation, global LPG exports rose by 5% between January and September 2025.
