Must read

Maritime security company Ambrey has reported a piracy attack early on September 14th local time at Conakry Anchorage, Guinea. General cargo ship Martina (IMO 9594286) had left Conakry on September 8th and was anchored until the attack.

Three pirates armed with firearms boarded the German vessel, which was anchored some 16 nm south of Conakry. The crew managed to muster in the citadel, as a result of which no crew were injured or kidnapped.

The pirates looted the ship and then apparently fled. Shortly after the attack the Martina heaved anchor and moved further out to sea.

As of the afternoon of September 15th the ship was either drifting, or anchored, 65

2012-built, Antigua & Barbuda-flagged, 6,190 gt Martina is owned by Moritz Jens U Waller GmbH care of manager Jens U Waller GmbH of Drochtersen, Germany. It is entered with West of England (European claims team) on behalf of MS Moritz Jens U Waller GmbH & Co.
