Iran’s Navy has defeated a pirate attack on an Iran-based cargo vessel in the Gulf of Aden, the Iranian Press TV reported on Saturday. Some unidentified pirates had attacked the vessel on Friday. However, experiencing the fire from the 80th fleet of the Iranian Navy they fled. It added that the Iranian vessel has set sail for its destination.
Over the past years, Iran’s Navy has been able to foil many attacks on both foreign and Iranian vessels in the international waters.
Per Press TV, the Iranian Navy’s 80th naval fleets, including Bushehr naval escort and Alborz destroyer vessels, are present in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean for protecting tankers and cargo vessels.
