1. All depths are charted depths at Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT)
2. Maximum allowable underkeel clearance: 10% of draft or 1m (whichever greater)
3. Tidal range: 1.2m (neap) to 2.8m (spring)
4. Current speeds: 1-3 knots (max 5 knots in narrow channels)

Navigation Warnings
1. Yantian approach channel: 275m wide, 16.5m depth
2. Shekou approach channel: 200m wide, 14.0m depth
3. Chiwan approach channel: 180m wide, 13.5m depth
4. Mandatory reporting points at all channel entrances
5. Speed limit: 8 knots in port areas

Important Notes for Mariners
1. All vessels >10,000 GT must submit pre-arrival documentation 72h in advance
2. Dangerous cargo operations require special permits (minimum 48h notice)
3. Night navigation restrictions apply to vessels >250m LOA
4. Tug assistance is mandatory for:
– Vessels >200m LOA
– VLCCs and ULCCs
– During Beaufort 6+ conditions
5. Bunker operations require prior approval (24h notice minimum)
