Port of Imbituba marks 100th call of containership Bartolomeu Dias

The container ship Bartolomeu Dias reached a historic milestone in October with its 100th berthing at Berth 2 of the Port of Imbituba. The vessel operates on the ALCT2 cabotage service run by Aliança Navegação e Logística, which makes weekly calls at the port complex, linking the South to the Northeast of Brazil. To mark the occasion, the CEO of SCPAR Porto de Imbituba, Christiano Lopes de Oliveira, presented a commemorative plaque to the ship’s master, Marcelo Laurindo Julião, during a ceremony held on board.

The tribute was attended by the crew, the Port Authority’s Operations team, and representatives of Agência Marítima Imbituba (AMI), responsible for servicing the vessel.Measuring 254.90 meters LOA and 37.4 meters in beam, theBartolomeu Dias sails under the Brazilian flag and can transport up to 4,848 TEUs.At the Port of Imbituba, the ship plays a strategic role in moving key regional cargoes such as rice and ceramic products manufactured in southern Santa Catarina.

According to the CEO, the vessel’s 100th call underscores the Port of Imbituba’s consolidation as a key link in Brazil’s logistics chain. “This achievement highlights the importance of the Port of Imbituba in Brazilian maritime logistics and its contribution to strengthening the economy of Santa Catarina,” he said.
