Port Saint John opens Crew Lounge for cruise ship staff

Must read

The recently developed area is exclusively for crew members to relax onshore

Port Saint John in Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, Canada, has opened a new Crew Lounge for cruise ship staff to use while their ship is docked.

The Crew Lounge is part of the port’s newly opened AREA 506, which is a development focused around a waterfront container village concept, and is made from recycled shipping containers.

The lounge offers a rooftop patio overlooking the harbour, comfortable seating, tables, device charging stations, high-speed wifi and air conditioning.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this special new space to visiting cruise ship crew members,” said Natalie Allaby, cruise development manager at Port Saint John. “We know they’re eager to relax and connect with loved ones when on shore leave. We think we’ve created a really welcoming and laid-back environment for them to enjoy.

“The investment was an easy decision for the port while we aim to broadly enhance and elevate the passenger experience at Port Saint John. Happy crew means great service, and great service means happy passengers. This investment just made sense for many reasons.”
