PortMiami achieved a significant milestone in cargo performance, handling 1,115,058 TEUs in fiscal year 2025, compared to 1,089,443 TEUs in the previous fiscal year, representing a 2.35% growth and marking 11 consecutive years exceeding one million TEUs.
“PortMiami’s dual achievement highlights its dynamic role as a nerve center for both cruises and cargo, contributing billions to the local economy while advancing a forward-looking vision of innovation, resilience, and global connectivity,” stated Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
“PortMiami’s record performance in cruise and cargo operations reflects the dedication of our entire team and the strength of our partnerships with the cruise industry, shipping lines, and the business community,” added Hydi Webb, PortMiami Director and CEO.
The port’s cargo growth underscores the importance of infrastructure investments, including increased efficiency, technology, and connectivity in the yards. Improvements in the cargo yards include the completion of the second phase of the electric RTG (eRTG) crane project, which will bring the total number of eRTGs at the South Florida Container Terminal to 18.
Meanwhile, at the Seaboard Marine yard, drainage work and dock rehabilitation continue.
