A plague exchange ceremony was held onboard Disney Magic to celebrate the inaugural visit, with delegates from port authority and the ship’s crew present
Port of Leixões welcomed the maiden call of Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic on 26 July 2022 at its Porto Cruise Terminal in Portugal.
The ship, which was sailing a seven-day voyage from Barcelona, Spain, to Dover, UK, arrived in Porto with 1,260 passengers onboard. It was escorted to the pier by two water cannon tugs.
To mark the occasion, the port welcomed passengers and crew with Portuguese traditional dances and performances. During the afternoon, passengers were able to try port wine when they returned to the terminal from their visits to Porto, Dourno and northern Portugal.
To further commemorate the inaugural visit, a plague exchange ceremony was held onboard Disney Wish with delegates from the port authority and the ship’s crew present.
