The Port Authority of Santos (APS) hosted the 15th ordinary meeting of the Santos Port ESG Manifesto. At the meeting, two new entities joined the movement as signatories: the Instituto Kondzilla and the startup Data Overseas. With this, there are now 53 subscriptions to the Manifesto – which was launched in August 2023 with 22 initial signatories.
The ESG Manifesto is an APS initiative for a solid commitment by the Port of Santos to a more sustainable and socially conscious world. The document is signed by APS itself, municipal governments in the region, and companies and institutions that operate in the port complex. The initiative was taken by APS with the goal of thinking about ESG along the three pillars (Environment, Social, and Governance) for the port community.
Data Overseas is an innovative startup created from the winning project of the ESG Challenge hackathon in 2024. The company created an Artificial Intelligence tool to carry out waste monitoring and management in port areas.
Instituto Kondzilla, in turn, is a Social Organization (OS) founded by a homonymous business group, which originated from an audiovisual production company specializing in music videos from the funk and hip-hop universe. The Institute develops educational programs for youth through social impact actions in peripheral territories.
In addition to the new signatories, Monday’s ESG Manifesto meeting featured a lecture by Childhood Brasil, a civil society organization whose mission is to stimulate, promote, and develop supportive environments and solutions to prevent and confront violence, abuse, and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
