La Spezia – A green turning point for the ports of La Spezia and Marina di Carrara. The service conference, convened by the Adsp of the Eastern Ligurian Sea, resulted in the approval of the project for the construction of a renewable hydrogen production and distribution plant within the Ligurian port. The project is part of the national Pnrr – Green Ports program, funded by the European Union, and aims to support hydrogen mobility in the ports of La Spezia and Marina di Carrara, reducing emissions and contributing to the decarbonization of port activities.
The approved plant is a strategic infrastructure, designed to power port vehicles and hydrogen-fueled vehicles, in line with the environmental and sustainability objectives set at the European level. The project received the green light from the involved authorities, albeit with some technical prescriptions that must be incorporated during the execution phase. With the signing of the final decree by special commissioner Bruno Pisano, the administrative process is officially concluded, and the project can now move to the operational phase.
