Must read

Harvest Energy Marine, part of the Prax Group of companies, has purchased 2020-built bunker tanker Fortuna II

The vessel joins the company’s existing fleet, expanding Harvest Energy Marine’s delivery infrastructure in the UK and northwestern European waters.

According to VesselsValue, the small, clean product bunker tanker was sold to Prax in March 2022 by Turkish company Istanbul Denizcilik for an undisclosed sum. VesselsValue estimates the vessel’s market value at approximately US$10M.

“Fortuna II will benefit from the Prax Group’s established supply and storage network in the UK and continental Europe, demonstrating the group’s commitment to meet the needs of customers seeking fast and efficient delivery of bunker fuels, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,” a statement from Prax read.

68-m Fortuna II has a deadweight of 1,700 tonnes. The ship can carry very low sulphur fuel oil and marine gas oil, and is able to supply bunkering services in ports along the UK coast, and in northwestern Europe.

Harvest Energy Marine general manager Geert Boden said, “I am delighted to announce the purchase of Fortuna II, to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers right across the UK and northwestern Europe. We are firmly committed to continuing to build a robust and reliable supply chain to meet those needs, to deliver innovative solutions to reduce refuelling times at a competitive price, while providing our customers with their most important resource.”
