Puerto Madryn has already begun the 2026 cruise season, with 37 arrivals announced and more than 60,000 cruise passengers. The season will also feature a notable milestone with the return of the company Celebrity Cruises, which will operate with the Celebrity Equinox, 317 meters in length, and which has seven stopovers planned.
The first cruise to call was the expedition ship National Geographic Endurance, a vessel 118 meters in length and flying the flag of the Bahamas, which docked on the north side of the Comandante Luis Piedra Buena Pier, coming from the Port of Bahía Blanca, with 59 passengers and 103 crew members on board. After visiting the city on the Nuevo Gulf, it set sail south to make a stop at the Vernaci Islands, in the Bahía Bustamante area.
The administrator of the Puerto Madryn Port Administration, Joaquín Aristarain, emphasized that “the cruise movement represents a significant plus for the provincial economy, boosting the tourism, commercial, and service sectors, and positioning Chubut as a gateway to Patagonia for visitors from all over the world.”
“The support of Governor Ignacio Torres, who promotes policies to strengthen both port activity and provincial tourism development, is essential for the international projection of the province,” concluded Aristarain.
