Thesectoral companies, theGovernment andtheregional heads should focus onmeeting domestic demand formetal products, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting onthedevelopment ofthemetallurgical complex, according to the transcript published on the official website of the Kremlin.
According to the President, that is not only about stable supplies ofthese goods toour market but also about increasing these supplies, about growing demand, primarily due totheincrease inthevolume ofconstruction ofhousing, industrial andcommercial facilities, andbecause oftheimplementation oflarge infrastructure development programmes: railways, bridges andoverpasses, aswell asother capital facilities.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia would always be areliable andresponsible supplier ofmetallurgical products toforeign customers andpartners regardless ofany current political troubles. “We will also be reliable partners tothose who are looking forbeneficial, predictable business cooperation, but we will not act against our own best interests inrelations with those who have adopted anopenly unfriendly stance towards us. This applies not only tothemetal market, but also toour other exports,” said the President.
He also reminded about the instructions given atthemeeting inApril toadopt theStrategy fortheDevelopment ofRussian Metallurgy until 2030. “Back then, theGovernment andbusinesses were also instructed toclarify theexport areas ofRussian metallurgy inorder toredirect commodity flows towards dynamically growing markets,” he said.
