RMS Projects works on 10 project cargo-optimised MPPs with CIMC

RMS Projects has been brought in to develop a series of multipurpose heavy lift vessels in cooperation with the Chinese supplier of logistics and energy equipment, China International Marine Containers (CIMC).

RMS Projects, a specialist in ocean transportation, marine contracting, COA- and project management, newbuilding development, S&P and ship management, has been appointed as commercial manager for the /HLV newbuilding development project by CIMC.

“We have set up a series of up to 10 /HLV newbuildings,” RMS Projects, formerly known as Arkon Shipping & Projects, said in a statement, adding that the first six units will be delivered in 20224 with the remaining vessels to be delivered in 2025.

The vessels are 14,000 dwt, bridge fore, fitted with two 250 mt cranes combinable to 500 mt. The vessels will go under DNV class with 1A Iceclass and hatchless notation.

Having 1 /1 hatch of 91,80 x 19,80 metres (lower hold) and 114,10 x 19,80 metre (tween deck) and a clear deck area of 125,40 x 25,60 metres, the vessels are optimised for the carriage of project cargo for on- and offshore industry.
