Royal Caribbean is considering expanding its itineraries to South America, with Argentina and Chile -countries with multiple attractions, but with extensive coastlines that do not allow for short-duration itineraries- being options evaluated by the company. “There are always possibilities,” stated the company’s Associate Vice President for Latin America, Itzel Valdés, to .

The dialogue took place within the framework of the special three-day trip that the Serenade of the Seas made between Miami, USA and Colón, Panama. The vessel recently began operations in the southern Caribbean with home ports in Colón and Cartagena, Colombia, seeking to consolidate the cruise line’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Latin American market.

“In the end, the growth of Latin America and the commitment in the region is significant. I would say that the season, in itself, depends -obviously- on it working, on it lasting. The company is always moving forward, reviewing new ports, and in fact, the sister brands, like Royal Caribbean Group -that is, Silversea and Celebrity- also have ships in the Deep South,” pointed out Valdés.

“In one way or another, we are present as a group, as the Royal Caribbean brand. Yes, there are possibilities and we are always looking at different opportunities. Perhaps, in the next meeting, I will bring some surprises regarding this,” she added.

With the trip from Miami to Colón, the Serenade of the Seas concluded its repositioning voyage. Its first commercial itinerary will be executed on October 11, with a seven-day rotation that includes stops in Cartagena, Willemstad (Curaçao) and Oranjestad (Aruba), returning to Colón.

Cartagena will also function as an alternative embarkation and disembarkation port, allowing passengers to start and end the journey from Colombia. The season will extend until April 25, 2026.
