Satlink, a Spanish group and world leader in the development of technological solutions to improve the management and sustainability of the oceans, has integrated nke Group (“nke”), a French company with more than 40 years of experience in the design and manufacture of instruments for measuring and monitoring water quality in oceans and fresh waters, as well as for navigation. Headquartered in Hennebont (Brittany, France), nke is a key partner for thousands of clients in the public and private sectors worldwide.

This operation unites two of the most established companies in the sector and constitutes one of the most relevant milestones in the ocean technology industry in recent years, creating the largest independent European platform in this field. Following this announcement, Satlink serves more than 10,000 organizations including governments, research institutions, industrial partners, and NGOs, in more than 130 countries, with 13 offices in Europe, America, and Asia and a global network of local partners. The company will close this fiscal year with sales exceeding 100 million euros, consolidating its position as a global benchmark in maritime technologies.

With the integration, Satlink accelerates the development of data collection and analysis solutions for a better understanding and management of the oceans and their resources, ensuring their long-term sustainability. nke complements these capabilities with its expertise in water monitoring, including its outstanding contribution to the international Argo program, among others. Both companies create a unique platform that combines world-class instrumentation with advanced data analysis and integrated solutions, based on proprietary technology, to better understand, protect, and manage ocean resources.

Own Brand

nke will continue to operate under its own brand, preserving its identity and the trusted relationships with its customers. nke’s management team will remain unchanged, ensuring business continuity and preserving the company’s DNA. The integration also includes Aquaread, a British manufacturer of portable and fixed instruments for monitoring water quality – part of the nke group – which expands the Satlink group’s scope to the monitoring of continental and coastal waters.

The CEO of nke, Alain Boschet, will join Satlink as an investor, alongside the current shareholders: Apheon, Artá Capital, Faustino Velasco, and the rest of the Satlink management team. According to Faustino Velasco, founder and executive chairman of Satlink, “We are delighted to welcome the nke team, with whom we are joining forces to further accelerate our innovation capabilities, broaden our solution offering, and ultimately enhance the knowledge and sustainability of the oceans through proprietary technology. The integration strengthens our global reach and, most importantly, adds an extraordinary team that shares our values and our ambition to make a difference.”

For Alain Boschet, CEO of nke, “Joining forces with Satlink represents a unique opportunity to accelerate our growth and expand our international presence, while enhancing our R&D capabilities. We are convinced that this step will take nke to the next level, and we face this new chapter with great enthusiasm alongside Faustino and the entire team.”
