Sea Machines Robotics has become the latest Management Board member of One Sea, an industry group aiming to support the introduction of an operating autonomous maritime ecosystem by 2025.
Sea Machines is a developer of autonomous command, control and perception systems for vessels, based in Boston, US. Drew Orvieto, Naval Architect and Senior Director of Product Management at Sea Machines will serve as the first board member within the United States for the One Sea ecosystem.

Formed in 2016, the One Sea ecosystem operates in an advisory and advocacy capacity for stakeholders with an interest in the potential safety, efficiency and environmental gains available through the introduction of autonomous ships.
Members include maritime technology stakeholders such as ABB, Cargotec, Finnpilot, Fintraffic, Haltian, Kongsberg, Monohakobi Technology Institute (MTI), TietoEVRY and Wärtsilä, as well as a range of other organisations involved in different aspects of vessel management.
