Company safely completed an LNG bunkering for shuttle tanker “Frida Knutsen” at Portland Port, UK, marking its first operation in this location.
Dexter Belmar, Shell’s Vice President Global Downstream LNG on Wednesday (17 September) said Shell has expanded its liquified natural gas (LNG) bunkering network to Portland, UK.
Last month, the company safely completed a LNG bunkering operation for the Frida Knutsen at Portland Port, UK, marking its first operation in this location.
“Frida Knutsen is one of the dual-fuel LNG shuttle tankers Shell has supported since the fleet’s inception over three years ago,” he said in a social media post.
“We’ve primarily bunkered this fleet in Rotterdam and Skaw, and we’re proud to now include Portland in our growing bunkering network.”
“A heartfelt thank you to Eni Trade & Biofuels S.p.a, Enilive. S.p.a. and the Port of Portland for their cooperation in making this operation a success.”
Frida Knutsen was ordered by Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers, an affiliate of NYK, and was delivered in August 2022 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. NYK, at the time, announced that the shuttle will be chartered to ENI Trade & Biofuels S.p.A, a subsidiary of Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi S.p.A (ENI).
Belmar added Shell LNG is now available in 28 locations across 13 countries.
