Stena Line signs temporary agreement with Irish Ferries to share cargo and passengers

Must read

Stena Line signed a temporary agreement with Irish Ferries to share freight and passenger space in the Irish Sea. The collaboration will allow the vessels to go into dry dock, ensuring service continuity.

This agreement will be in effect from November 20 to December 4, 2025. During this period, Stena Line will operate the Dublin to Holyhead service with assigned capacity for Irish Ferries customers. Simultaneously, Irish Ferries will offer space on the Rosslare-Pembroke route for Stena Line’s passenger and freight customers.

Users of the Swedish shipping company will travel on the Pembroke-Rosslare route and staff will be available at Pembroke Port to assist them. This change also allows for planned maintenance to be carried out at the Fishguard harbor facility.

Johan Edelman, Commercial Director for the Southern Irish Sea at Stena Line, stated that “we are pleased to announce this temporary operational model that ensures service continuity for our freight and travel customers during the essential maintenance and modernization tasks for our vessels.”

“This collaboration reinforces the resilience of our operations in the Irish Sea and guarantees service reliability. Our customers’ needs are always first in our minds; that is why we are delighted that it has been possible to develop this model,” Edelman stated.
